Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING My Grandfather and I have taken in plenty of Couchsurfers and other travelers over the years. We stay in contact with most of our guests and hosts. Many have even become extended family :) COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE Wonderful at best, a learning experience at worst. Nothing awful.
Music, Movies, and Books
Of course.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I crawled out of another human being after she grew me for 9 months in her tummy. But really, she did most of the work.
Teach, Learn, Share
Definitely.
What I Can Share With Hosts
I consider myself both a good host and guest. Sharing my yoga practice is my life work and is something I really enjoy. Aside from my professional skills, I can offer help around the house or with odd jobs. I like learning new skills. If nothing else, I can offer good conversation :)
My Interests
Yoga, Aikido, Gong Fu; massage and body work; practicing new-school anthropology , language learning, experimental cooking; running, swimming, riding my bike; living in a tent instead of paying rent and transgressing other unjust laws where practical; being in mountains, forests, water, and outside in general. Doing whatever sustains my attention to the presence of my body-mind-breath-ecology existence. It is easy to do and be. Try not doing or being: this is the most difficult. Professionally, I'm in community health care. (I am not pretentious enough to pretend I've more than scratched the surface of Yoga and therefore can not honestly call myself a "yoga teacher.") Currently I'm an instructor with the Adaptive Yoga Project in Santa Cruz, California. We work with folks and youths with physical and mental handicaps. In the long-term, I want to open a K-12 school that integrates yoga and martial arts training into an academic curriculum.
