I was born in China and attended school in the US. Then, I moved to Europe. Currently, I live in a small town near Frankfurt. As a biologist, I am specifically interested in the diversity of species. My research interest is comparing embryonic development between different species to uncover the evolutionary history. Besides science, I like reading books about philosophy, history, and sociology during my free time. However, I believe immersing in the real world is necessary to comprehend ideas from any media. Hence, I am enthusiastic about traveling to different places and interacting with various people.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
Thanks to modern technology, the world is more connected, and we are more isolated (contradictory, right? There is a term called "filter bubble"). To overcome the byproduct of modern society, I believe a mutual understanding of our similarities and differences is essential. Hence, Couchsurfing offers the opportunity to know people I could have never met at school or the workplace.
Music, Movies, and Books
I like music that reminds me of something pleasant—OST from some video games and movies. I prefer non-fiction books, especially those with a philosophical context. (e.g., A history of Western philosophy)
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Hiking and camping in the wilderness of over twenty national parks in the US.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to make things simple. Currently, I am exploring simple dishes. I wish the host and surfer could approach mutual understanding in various ways, from sharing stories to participating in activities.
What I Can Share With Hosts
My travel stories and the life of a research scientist.
