Hi there, my name is Chau (pronounced like ciao in Italian). I was born and raised in HCMC, Vietnam. When I turned 15, I decided to study abroad in the U.S. on my own and that was where my life took a great turn. Fast forward, I finished my BSc in Pennsylvania and moved to Paris to pursue my MSc degree in biomedical engineering. Starting from now on, I will be conducting my PhD research for another 3 years. My "home" is constantly changing, so I guess you can say I adapt quickly to new environments. The nice perk about this is that I have friends from all over the world. Now that I am living in Europe, I want to take advantage of this and travel more often (whenever my schedule permits...PhD research is quite intense and time consuming). My living style: clean and tidy but I am flexible and respectful of the host's arrangement (as long as you don't have cockroaches or street rats in your place...hahah). I am active: yoga, weightlifting, and swimming are my go-to sports. I am horrible at hand-coordinating sports like basketball and tennis (sadly). I have an adventurous soul. I am open minded, easy going, love to cook and trying new things. I also have a strong passion for plants and care about animals and the environment. I prefer engaging conversation with a few people than small talks with a large group. BUT I do like big parties (especially music festivals and concerts). Music preferences: house, disco, funk, jazz, electronic

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
To meet travelers and share stories, experiences with you. Humans are social creatures and experiences are multiplied when shared :).
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: funk, disco, and electronic. I love good independent movies (currently obsessed with French movies and French music - both old and modern). Books: I have to admit I haven't read much for leisure during my university studies. I'm slowly getting back to this hobby. My current favorites are: The Fountainhead - Ayn Rand The 100-year-old man who climbed out the window and disappeared - Jonas Jonasson The Handmaid's Tales - Magaret Atwood
