Hello! I joined Couchsurfing in 2014 after meeting a traveler who had a positive experience with this site so I thought to give it a go. Personally, I like the concept of it because it is a good medium to meet like-minded people who share the same passion for travel, adventure, culture, food, events, etc. Should you be lucky, you can also score yourself a free tour guide around the city. As a traveler, meeting locals and listening to their stories about their country while having their famous dishes/drinks at their local restaurants/bars has always been a pleasant experience.
