One thing I learned traveling that I brought home with me is...
good stories and food recipes
Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I like to explore like a traveler, not as a tourist. I've had many good experiences surfing but also sharing with CS friends in Santiago, my hometown city. Also surfing around the world. My home is not your hotel. So, don't expect that I will accept your request under the idea that you will have free bed and free food. I am interested to share and get to know more about you. And I’ll do the same in my case.
Music, Movies, and Books
I'm addicted to tv shows and cinema. I use them in my classes so I spent many hours per week on it. Music: I'm a big fan of U2. Besides rock, I love Latin American music, reggae, indie, EDM. Books: Currently I am trying to read more fiction books by Latina authors. My plan is to read Isabel Allende’s bibliography.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
After eight days walking with a heavy backpack, and doing the O-circle in Torres del Paine, we arrived at the top of the circuit: El Paso. We walked for four or five hours when finally we saw the most impressive view. We were face-to-face with the Grey Glacier and the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. It was like the scene of Into the Wild. I started to cry and scream of emotion. To sleep under the sky full of stars in the desert of Jordan. Rafting in one of the best rivers in the world: Futaleufú. Living in India for a year. Driving a moto in Burma.
Teach, Learn, Share
TEACH: If you are learning Spanish, I can teach and practice with you. Also, if you want to speak "Chilean" gang, I could be a good teacher. I could teach you some Chilean history and culture, especially a critical and conscient one. And if you want to cross Chile by hitchhiking, I would recommend you the best tips. Also, the best places in Patagonia to have an encounter with the most wonderful experiences with nature. LEARN: I love to learn about other cultures and languages. I love couchsurfing because I can really get to know people and build friendships that will continue over the years. SHARE: Stories around the globe, good food, good music (Spotify Playlists), and good talk.
What I Can Share With Hosts
Helping you with practicing your Spanish. My friends say I am a good cook, so I can cook for you in exchange of a couch/bed where to stay. Showing you around the city where I am living. Giving you good "picadas" about countries where I have lived/traveled.
