If you're coming to Finland, go beyond central area. You'll discover Porvoo, the classic old town before Helsinki became cool :D I personally like the atmosphere of smaller cities, which is why I live there. River with a lovely view? Check. Wooden houses and cobblestone streets? Check. Unique local crafts? Check. A church that was burned down by the Swedish, Russians and even Finnish drunken youngsters? Check.
