For potential guests, please keep in mind that my room is super tiny. Itโs literally a shoebox. I cannot host someone who snores unfortunately. I have nothing against snoring but imagine yourself going to work on Monday without sound sleep. โโโโโโโโโโโโโโ- Mingalar bar! ๐โจ I'm a PhD student with a thirst for adventure, always on the lookout for those budget-friendly flight/bus/train tickets to explore as many corners as possible of our beautiful blue planet. Growing up in Myanmar (Burma), I had no idea how vast the world truly was, thanks to our country's isolation under a harsh military dictatorship. But in 2010, our borders started to open to the international community, and I seized every opportunity to experience life beyond the horizon. Sadly, the military coup in February 2021 closed all our doors to a bright future again and brought unimaginable hardships for many of us. I'm just grateful for the "golden decade" I got to witness, and my heart aches for the youngsters back home who are now missing out a lot. Although holding one of the world's weakest passports can be a challenge, I'm filled with hope that through my studies, work, and the magic of serendipity, I'll continue to uncover the wonders of our world beyond my tiny room. Here's to making new friends, one couch at a time! โ๏ธ Cheers! ๐โจ In case you do not get a response, Instagram: @havok_crimson

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
Iโm a solo traveler with a trusty backpack. I thrive on meeting new people and hearing their incredible stories. Thereโs nothing quite like sharing our passion for travel and making connections along the way! Since I have my own room, I'm excited to start hosting guests again. My room is most suited for solo travelers who need a place to crash after a day of exploring the city. If my schedule allows, I can show you some hidden gems around my apartment. **!!! Important: Please read the "My Home" section carefully before making a request. !!!** I've had to reject many requests simply because people didnโt read my profile thoroughly. I used to explain why, but after receiving some aggressive responses, I decided to just ignore such requests. Also, if you are reluctant to promptly leave a reference after staying, do NOT send me a couch request. You can book a hostel instead. When Iโm not hosting, I can invite random guests to a free lunch/dinner, and concerts. These are some of the perks of being an international student in Japan. I must be stupid to put flags here as many of us have multiple origins/homes. So please take this very lightly ๐

It's puzzling why people harbor so much hate and engage in wars. Why can't we embrace our differences? After all, most of us love unique items when shopping, right? Recently though, the military coup in our country brought new perspectives on wars for me. Sometimes, we canโt avoid them. Itโs tragic and made me realize certain privileges. I enjoy talking about philosophies, the meaning of life, and happy memories with people I meet along my trips. Letโs learn something new together!!! Personal recommendations in Kyoto: 1. Hike Daimonji mountain for the sunset view ๐ and night skyline of Kyoto (bring insect repellents) 2. Visit the small Kimono forest ๐ at Arashiyama tram station at night 3. Cross Kamo River (Kamogawa) ๐ฆ stepping on tortoise stones at Kamogawa delta - itโs super fun 4. Vermilion torii gates โฉ๏ธ at Fushimi Inari-taisha are best seen during early mornings to avoid big crowds 5. If you love cats ๐, you might want to visit Philosopherโs path
What I Can Share With Hosts
- Burmese culture including language - Politics? (everything we talk about is somehow related to it, isn't it?) - Help with some household chores - 100% promise to leave a reference (the least I could do to express my gratitude for your time and kindness)
My Interests
I absolutely love getting to know fellow travelers on my solo adventures. Those moments create the most unforgettable memories and great friendships. I'm always eager to hear your most thrilling travel stories. **My Interests:** - Ancient ruins - Architecture - Mythology - Wildlife I'm hoping to visit Central and South America in the future, as I've never been there. While I might be a terrible learner when it comes to new languages, I'm eager to master some basic Spanish before embarking on that exciting journey! ๐
