I am on this platform as someone who knows about the REAL SPIRIT of COUCH SURFING! What Couch Surfing is about is to help each other out; learn; share and care. THAT'S ALL! I have actually hosted way more people than it shows here right now, especially in Holland where I was an EU project volunteer in Maastricht in 2010. Now here I am again and I would really like to let you know that I am not the type who only views travelling as something to do "on a budget" or who just and only cares about being a "guest". On the contrary, as the real spirit of this community entails, I am also open to hosting, with an open heart and mind. I have never regretted hosting the people that I have helped ('Turkish hospitality is a well-deserved collocation) and I am grateful for the experience of becoming a guest, the cultural exchange and so on. I would describe myself as someone with a love for teaching, an enthusiasm for travelling, a curiosity for literature & intellectual endeavors, and fascination for good wine (and wine tastings) and good coffee. I think I have established lasting friendships in Istanbul and in Europe, but due to Schengen-related issues (if you check how incredibly difficult it is to even get an appointment for a Schengen in my home country) I haven't been able to travel to EU since the end of 2024. I will be back very soon (to EU) and I hope, this time, it will be much more fulfilling an experience. I am a Virgo, I care so much about cleanliness, decency and physical order & tidiness, so this side of me reflects in the household I am in. As a traveller, I am not the "backpacker" sort, you will always find me carrying a heavy suitcase, wherever I go. :) Thank God there are decent people on Mother Earth to help a struggling person with a suitcase when an elevator / walking stair is not an option. I am talkative and would love to hold conversations on a great deal of topics including sociology, gender, history, art, cinema, theatre, and beyond. I am from the Thracian region of Turkey so you can imagine how I love wine, rakı (similar to the Greek ouzo) and just relaxing by the beach / fireplace and feeling more alive watching the sun set.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I tried couch surfing for the first time when I was in Netherlands for a European Union project and I made so many beautiful memories, to say the least. Among the places that I travelled to by couch surfing are; Belgium - Brussels, Spain - Madrid & Volladolid, Italy - Pisa, Pontedera, Lucca, Germany - Weisbaden. I also hosted travellers all around Europe for ex. Spain, Germany, Brussels or Romania. I had to delete my account thus you will not see any of those references but I will share with you some of them very soon. I'm on couch surfing again because I like the community spirit here, we can learn a lot from each other and this experience will make us new each time. I love the philosophy behind this community and I want to show everyone how it is done.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
On my first year ever abroad; going to Spain all alone for the first time in my life and doing couch surfing in a flat the hosts of which I had just met. :) (It turned out to be amazing) (I missed the last bus to Madrid but the adventure just began.)
What I Can Share With Hosts
I can show you around in my beautiful neighbourhood - the 3rd wave coffee houses and unique bars if you visit me here. I can teach you some Turkish :) I can cook one of my specialty dishes, too and make sure I will arrive at your place with a bottle of red or white wine, carefully selected. :) Other than that, I can offer you my friendship and we will always find a common ground to talk about.
