I'm Jan, born and raised in Amsterdam and now doing a bachelor in history on the university of Amsterdam. I moved out last year and I'm finally starting to really explore my world. This summer I'm going to Rock Werchter in Belgium and I wanted to continue that journey by travelling south into France (and maybe beyond?) with a dear friend of mine. I'd like to travel carefree without obligations.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I think it's a great way to travel, as it's not only cheap but it is a much bigger experience than boring hotels. I'd like to meet the natives of the countries I'm visiting and possibly make friends for life.
Music, Movies, and Books
Big fan of Pink Floyd, the Beatles and Dylan, but also modern music like Daft Punk or RHCP. I also prefer American/British books over Dutch, especially classic literary works. Favourite book is either To Kill A Mockingbird or 1984. Movies? Pulp Fiction or Goodfellas for me! I'm also fan of Game of Thrones (books and series) so that's nice.
What I Can Share With Hosts
I live in a student flat right outside the old historic centre of Amsterdam (5 minute bike ride) with a big garden and a comfortable living room and kitchen. I can also show you around Amsterdam, take you to the best pubs or clubs (if that's your thing) or just be your historic guide (I'm studying history so I know a lot!). It would be nice to have dinner together or just hang out together with a few beers.
