I am a recent biology grad from Germany and wanted to get out of my normal environment to travel. That's why I decided to do a gap year working and traveling in Canada and North America. I started my trip in Winnipeg on the 3rd of November and have been there for the last 5 months. And after a long winter working outside in an icecastle (literally) I want to see some other areas and cities in Canada. Relaxing, having a coffee and a good chat is all I need to have a great day. I like trying new things, meeting new people and I don't really plan too far ahead. I appreciate all the spontaneous interactions I have with strangers when I am just wandering through a new environment. A big passion of mine is being in Nature. I love walking through a forest, hike or bike up a mountain or to paddle in a canoe, calmly observing my surroundings, always curious what I might be able to spot. One of my goals in doing this is to understand how everything around us forms one functioning system and how others and I are shaping it by our actions. The last 5 years I always lived in shared apartments or dorms. Being surrounded by many different people and always having someone to interact with is something I always valued. Sharing Ideas and helping out whenever it might be needed is one part of a functioning living community and I hope that I can lend a helping hand to you, your community or Family.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
Because I want to get to know the communities of the places I visit and I want to make meaningful connections with the people within it. And couchsurfing is an amazing way to do this.
Music, Movies, and Books
I don't have a specific music genre I prefer. I like dancing to electronic music and always want to hear someone else playlists to find songs and artists I didn't knew before. I like reading books to be entertained. Recently I caught up on some classics like 1984 by Gorge Orwell, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne and short poems and stories by Edgar Ellen Poe. Movies I just watched and appreciated a lot: S is for Stanley, Luca tanzt leis, Victoria (the one shot not the royals)
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I came to Winnipeg found a job and a room in a House where I lived with 6 roommates I didn't knew before. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. I had an amazing winter, I learned a lot and met so many new friends and I hope to have many more interactions like that all over Canada
What I Can Share With Hosts
A good mood and a helpful hand with everything that needs to be done in and around the house and your neighborhood.
