🌏 About Me Hi! I’m JM, a Filipino living in Japan, currently based in the quiet and beautiful city of Hagi. After a few years away, I’m back on Couchsurfing—this time with even more stories, experience, and appreciation for meaningful connections. I live in a traditional Japanese house surrounded by the sea, a pond, and mountains. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down and enjoy simple things—morning walks, good conversations, and shared meals. Living here has really shaped how I see travel: not just places, but people and moments. By profession, I’m a teacher (JET alum), so I naturally enjoy meeting people from different cultures, exchanging ideas, and having conversations that go beyond small talk (but I’m also very down for random, funny, and light moments too). ✈️ Travel Style When I travel, I’m not just ticking off tourist spots—I’m more into: experiencing local life trying everyday food spots learning small cultural habits and hearing people’s personal stories I appreciate hosts who are open to sharing a bit of their world, but I’m also very independent and respectful of your time and space. 🤝 Why I Couchsurf

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
For me, Couchsurfing isn’t just free accommodation—it’s about connection, trust, and shared human experiences. Some of my best travel memories came from people I met through this community, and I’m excited to create more.

Teach, Learn, Share
🏠 As a Guest I’ve hosted many people in the past, so I understand both sides of Couchsurfing. As a guest, I: keep things clean and organized, respect house rules and routines communicate clearly and always show appreciation (yes, I don’t disappear like a ninja 😄) I also enjoy contributing—whether it’s cooking a meal, sharing stories, or just bringing good vibes into your home. 🍳 Bonus If you host me, there’s a good chance you’ll get: Filipino food (or my attempt at it 😄) interesting stories from life in rural Japan and maybe a few laughs along the way
What I Can Share With Hosts
You’re free to use anything that’s in my house. I own a car so if time permits, I’d drive you around to my favorite spots in the city. I can also introduce you to the community and live like a local. 😊
