Hello, I'm Johan from Colombia🇨🇴! Actually I was born in New York 🇺🇸 but raised in Bogotá, Colombia. When I was 18 I moved to Thailand 🇹🇭 for a gap year and end up having the best year I have lived so far. Even more, taking into account the not so bright 2020 that has been kind of awful. On late 2020 I moved to Barcelona,Spain 🇪🇸 to study for my degree on Economics, at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I will be doing a gap year as an assistant in a school located in Pattaya. And I'm looking forward to visiting new places in Thailand and Southeast Asia. Okey so that why I was on CS then and basically is still my mojo. Through CS I have had the opportunity to meet really amazing people. Every single person I have met along this platform not only had been open mind and kind enough to teach me something or at least give me some advice. Now that I am in Spain I hope to get to meet amazing people who I hope eventually I get to call my friends. Since I'm now living in Spain permanently and not just visiting as a tourist is always good to have people you can count on.
Music, Movies, and Books
I like almost every music genre, but my favorites are pop, reggaeton, and rock. I love action, comedy, and horror movies, also I enjoy watching Netflix series. Any suggestions are more than welcome! Also if you like Friends the sitcom we will get along pretty well haha.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
-Going at the age of 18 to live an entire year to the other side of the world. -Hitting the entire Phuket island in one day (107km) riding a motorcycle. -Going to the full moon party in Koh Phangan -Running into a complete stranger and asking him to ride a motorcycle with me and my friends for the afternoon and then being stopped by the police. -Diving in the Gulf of Thailand. -Diving in Bali -Riding a bike in Nusa Penida (Bali), trust me is way challenging that you may think haha. -Leaving permanently my home country and moving opposite of the Atlantic to start a new life. -Meeting and getting to know my lost brother from another mother (Nacho) over a trip to Valencia.
Teach, Learn, Share
I will be always willing to teach some basic things of Spanish and besides that, as an ambassador of my country (Colombia🇨🇴) I can provide all the history I know in order to people see that Colombia it's not what most people think it is. I'm not a professional dancer but I can teach you the basics of Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, and Reggaeton (Perreo🕺🏻🤣). Perhaps if you like cooking we can cook something together otherwise I am more than happy to cook something for you, I quite enjoy cooking and most of the times the food turns up pretty delicious haha. 🍝🥘🍛 After a year in Asia, I can promise you I have a tone of stories I will be more than happy to tell you meanwhile we drink a beer. Also, I will love to learn anything someone can teach me. As we say in Colombia you gotta try to learn something new every day otherwise is a wasted day.
My Interests
My favorite football teams are Barcelona🔴🔵 and Atlético Nacional 💚. I also into politics and economics because specifically those subjects are on what my future degree will be based on.
