Hi, I’m Mehmet from Turkey, but Amsterdam has been my home for the last 3 years. I used to live strictly by the plan, always thinking five steps ahead — probably because of my engineering mindset. Moving abroad was my way of stepping out of my comfort zone and learning to go with the flow. I still overplan my travels sometimes 😄, but I’m much more open to the unexpected now. Joining CS felt like a natural part of that journey. I enjoy meeting people with different perspectives and lifestyles because it always changes the way I see the world a little. I strongly believe travel should not be a luxury. There’s always that paradox: when you have time, you don’t have money, and when you have money, you don’t have time. I still remember sleeping in train stations or airports as a student just to see a new city, so I’m especially happy to host travelers in a similar place. I enjoy nature, history, cooking, video games, and learning the bağlama, a traditional Turkish instrument.
