I'm currently teaching English at l’Université de Bourgogne in Dijon. I graduated in May 2018 from Amherst College in Massachusetts with a degree in math and French (weird combo, I know). For the 2016-2017 academic year, I studied abroad in Europe. I spent fall 2016 at the l’Université de Bordeaux and spring 2017 at the University of Oxford. In my free time, I like to train for endurance races, obsessively learn French, play the violin, and write for my lifestyle/fashion blog. I also co-curate Thank You for the Tragedy, an online collection of reader-submitted love tragedy memoirs.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I'm looking for new friends as I travel solo (mostly) and a local's perspective on the towns I visit.
Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite American singer-songwriters are Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson. I can frequently be heard belting out their tunes in the shower. I also have a soft spot for classic hits from the 80s-90s. My favorite francophone artists are Sara'h, Joyce Jonathan, and Stromae. I'm not a big movie person, but I love reading. I especially enjoy social psych books (think Malcolm Gladwell), memoirs (Scott Jurek's Eat and Run), and of course French literature (Roland Barthes).
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Ran a 50k (31 mi) in Weston, MA [was actually 32.7 mi because the course was inaccurate :')]. Spent 4 weeks solo traveling in France to 14 different cities while banning myself from speaking English the entire trip.
What I Can Share With Hosts
I love making vegan/vegetarian food--especially vegan desserts! I'd also love to shoot photos of you with my DSLR--taking portraits is my favorite. If I have my violin, I'm also happy jam away. And of course, I'm always looking for opportunities to speak in French.
