My name is Linda Artola and I'm a 100% born and race nicaraguan. I moved to the capital of the world, New York, in 2012 and now I can tell that this crazy city is my second home. I work as a freelance journalist, translator, band manager, event producer, baby sitter, etc, etc... (it's an expensive city and I need to survive and also get to travel every time I can!) I looooove going to concerts, riding my bike to the beach, eat food that I never tried before, talking to people in the street, dancing whenever and wherever there's good music, among other things :) I WANT TO TRAVEL AROUND THE WORLD!!!

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I think this is a great platform to connect with people from around the world and because it offers a more local way to get to know a country and its people. I'm pretty new on Couchsurfing, but I'm always hosting friends and friends of friends, so this is like taking another step into this experience.
Music, Movies, and Books
I'll write five of each, it's really hard for me to write lists and resume EVERYTHING I like :/ MUSIC (by genres): CUMBIA, TROVA, ROCK IN SPANISH, REGGAE, SALSA. MOVIES/DOCUMENTARIES: Samsara, The Salt of the Earth, Embrace of the Serpent, La teta asustada, Lion King. BOOKS: Patas arriba la escuela del mundo al revés by Eduardo Galeano El país bajo mi piel by Gioconda Belli A people's history of the United States by Howard Zinn Siddharta by Hermann Hesse Pedro y el capitán by Mario Benedetti
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I stayed for four days and three nights in the desert in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. No electricity, no phone, no bathroom, no bed, just enough water and food.
