This is a shared profile between me, Luciana, and my husband, Gil. We joined Couchsurfing in 2019 because we genuinely love hosting people and sharing moments while learning about new cultures. Back in Brazil, we lived in the “cidade maravilhosa” — the nickname lovingly given to Rio de Janeiro, where warmth, conversation and openness are part of everyday life. Life has changed a lot since then, and in the following years we experienced the adventure of living in two different countries — Portugal and now Ireland. Along the way, Couchsurfing has remained a meaningful part of how we connect with people and places. Today, we’re returning with the intention of expanding our connections around the world and having truly meaningful experiences while visiting new places. We’re also happy to offer our couch and our home to travelers who want to experience Ireland in a warm, simple and human way. Dog lovers are especially welcome — by us and by our two baby dogs 🐶🐶. We believe the best trips are built through shared moments, good conversations and mutual respect. *** Luciana – PHD Candidate and researcher, social worker, and eternal student. Loves books, movies, and sunsets. Gil – Works in logistics and security. Loves cars, motorcycles, and kayaking.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
We believe that Couchsurfing can be a way to connect with people beyond tourism, to experience places through local eyes, and to create meaningful exchanges along the way.
Music, Movies, and Books
We love brazilian popular music and other several types of music 🎶 But what we really like is country music! Dancing country music is very good (laughs)! Movies?! Oh, we love (almost) everyone and love watching series on marathons. About reading, reading ... I like Portuguese literature (Fernando Pessoa and Camões are my favorites) and books from the Human Sciences areas. My favorite book is the Little Prince, who made me fall in love with France as a child.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Challenging ourselves to study abroad even when we were no longer “that young” — proving to ourselves that curiosity, learning and new beginnings don’t have an age limit (and having a lot of fun along the way).

What I Can Share With Hosts
A calm, respectful and easygoing stay. We enjoy sharing meals, good conversations and cultural exchange, while also respecting personal space and daily routines. We’re independent travelers and happy to help around the house when needed. We are from Rio de Janeiro and what we do not lack is music, charisma, sun and a lot of resilience (laughs)! We also have good stories and our friendship. "colors, figures, motifs" (as one of the songs I love says)
