Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I grew up in a family that used to host travellers through the "Servas Association" when the web was not so used yet. Couchsurfing is for me one of the best means to travel in a cheap way haveing the opportunity to meet open minded people who want to share a piece of their LifePath with the others.
