We are a couple of easy-going, smiley, ukulele toting, body groovin’ humans! Martin is a very bearded guy from Vancouver Canada and Kayleigh is a Kiwi! We both live together in Christchurch, New Zealand in a 20 bedroom intentional community. We collectively love food, not wearing shoes, spontaneous kitchen dance parties and meeting new people and experiencing what makes their homes special. Our current adventure has taken us back to Martin's home country for 3 months, including a month-long trip up to Haida Gwaii and back via Highway 16. We have a car, as well as a tent and sleeping gear so are pretty adaptable. Martin has been settled in Christchurch for 6 years and is working on the design and rebuild post-earthquake, Kayleigh is studying and working part-time as a Communications coordinator for a not-for-profit. Some cool things Martin has done: +++ Fought forest fires in Northern British Columbia +++ Spent 3 months of trekking around Tasmania, Australia +++ Learnt Spanish in the highlands of Guatemala +++ Crewed on a sailboat for a 3.5-month passage across the South Pacific Ocean +++ Experienced a category 5 tropical cyclone (by accident) in Fiji Some cool things Kayleigh has done: +++ Rode a camel into the desert of Northern India and slept under the stars +++ Hitchhiked from Portugal to Spain in 3 days to catch a flight +++ Spent 36 hours on one bus! +++ Seen a wild leopard in the Jungles of Nepal +++ Ran wild with the Granada Gypsies in the south of Spain

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
People who open their homes to strange travellers are the kind of people we like to meet! We're all friends here, we just haven't met each other yet. We're hoping to fill our BC adventures with awesome new people and connections.
