You should take your time to read someone's profile from top to bottom to make sure it matches your interests, way of thinking and philosophy, or at least, if it's different, you should make sure also that you are prepared to respect that's different and learn from it, taking it as an experience itself! Please do not wait until "the day of" for your host to message you expecting you at their home and just then cancel. Remember to treat other as you would like to be treated. Would you like to be expecting someone and then they never show up or have the decency to let you know when you are offering to open your home to them? Nevertheless is sad for me to decline a request to someone because I am already hosting someone else to come across with a last minute cancellation and losing the opportunity to host someone else instead.
