Hey, this is Mira. I usually use this couchsurfing account together with my friend Kathrin - so you will find many references about her as well. But we don't live in the same city anymore, so for now it's only me (Mira), whom you will contact :) So I am Mira. I just moved to Essen, a city in a region calles "Ruhrgebiet" in Germany. In may 2022 I (and Kathrin) returned from a bigger cycling trip from Germany to Greece, visiting all former yugoslavian countries. I really enjoy travelling slowly, by bus, train, hiking, hitchhiking, bicylce, ship... That's because I think it's interesting and better for the environment! Before this last trip I finished my studies in intercultural psychology. I studied this not only because psychology is an interesting field, but also because I wanted to learn more about how to fight discrimination. This means, I am LGBTIQ* friendly and everybody from everywhere is welcome :) Now I work in a residential group for unaccompanied minor refugees. So I work in shifts, therefore we have to check timings of coming and leaving home from day to day. I also know what it feels like to be on the road for some time, so no worries about organisational stuff, washing machine etc. . I enjoy spending time together, but if you just need a place to rest, to make calls or to simply watch series, you're most welcome too :)

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
Kathrin and me were travelling from Germany to Mongolia by bus, train and ship. On our way we visited different countries and couchsurfed a lot. Without couchsurfing it would have been a totally different trip. We understand that writing requests can sometimes take a lot of time. So don‘t worry, copy+paste messages are fine for us :)
Teach, Learn, Share
We would like to learn Russian! We started to learn it a few years ago before travelling through Russia, but we'd be happy to practice. Please don't see this as a political statement about the war against Ukraine! We would be happy to learn some Ukrainian, too. In return we'd be happy to teach you how to knit :)
