My husband and I travel quite a bit: the UK, Australia, Costa Rica, Iceland and the US. We prefer to avoid hotel rooms because we're interested in how people in other countries live, what their homes are like, etc. Our daughter lives in Reykjavik, so it is a frequent destination. We live in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California, not far from the Pacific Crest Trail that runs from Mexico to Canada. Over the last few years, we've become trail angels (people who assist PCT hikers). It's been a great experience for us, meeting people from all over the world as they hike the PCT.
