Why I'm on Couchsurfing
To meet people who share a common passion for trekking and backpacking. And possibly to meet up with people visiting my city .... I'd love to build bridges across nations and cities.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music -: I usually listen to a song incessantly for a few weeks, get tired of it and move on. But a few bands are in my heart forever and foremost among those are Breaking Benjamin, Poets of the Fall, Mumford & Sons. And how dare I forget Sigur Ros !!! Movies -: Love is one emotion overwhelmingly depicted in movies but I hate it when its shown in a cheesy and melodramatic way. This list is too large but to give you a sample -: Blue is the warmest color, The lives of others, Amour, Schindler's List, Boyhood,etc. And some out of the box movies like Inception, Interstellar, The Prestige, and so on. Books -: I'm in awe of Leo Tolstoy - War and Peace and Anna Karenina. My favorites are mainly non-fiction - India after Gandhi, Surely you're joking Mr. Feynman. These days I'm on a mission to find out how the universe was formed so I read anything I can get on astronomy, quantum physics and cosmology.
What I Can Share With Hosts
I'm willing to be your local guide, though I'm afraid I can't find you a room in my own house but in terms of showing you around my city and everything else that it entails Drop your worries about food and transportation, I'll take care of it. And ofcourse you can pick my brain. In particular if visiting Himachal Pradesh and Punjab there's a lot of information I've gathered over the years and can share.
My Interests
Trekking and hiking.There's no greater pleasure than being one with nature. I love football and fervently support "The Arsenal". I also play badminton. Not a day passes without reading, and finally I've started taking baby steps towards becoming a freelance writer.
