Raised near San Francisco, I moved first to Paris, then Hong Kong, and later to Cape Town to teach economics and work at a trade law NGO. 20 years later, I lived between Odesa, St Petersburg, and Warsaw. I adopted a stray kitten while in Peru, and as of May 2026 we live in Bariloche.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
For the third time I've run into a friendly group of couchsurfers after randomly ending up in a backpackers where they organized a meet, so here I am the morning after finally signing up. I made a few friends each of the previous times, seems too much fun to leave to chance!

Survived the 2004 tsunami on the beach at Khao Lak, Thailand.
My Interests
Besides the traveling I enjoy learning new languages, hiking, long drunken discussions about how to save the world, shorter ones about most anything else, while planning for the ultimate lifestyle where my work is all of my hobbies.
