Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I find it's much better to meet real people than stay in a de-personalised and sterile hotel - although hotels definitely have a place in my life too sometimes.

One Amazing Thing I've Done
My daughter asked me to officiate her wedding as the celebrant! I wrote the service - spiritual and philosophical, not religious - got an outfit and, despite worrying I would ruin everything (haha!), I pulled it off! It was in the Sky Garden at the Hard Rock Hotel in Tenerife. I found it interesting to think about what a wedding service should entail. I tried to incorporate tradition, enjoyment and a bit of thought-provoking philosophy.

I'm 55 now and have lived through a few changes in English society. I started work at 16 as a 'hoist boy' in a slipper factory, converted from a Lancashire cotton mill.
