I like my city and I enjoy showing it to visitors, telling about my habits, the stories that I know, the best places to hang out, the best locations to see around. I believe it's still better to follow people advices than trusting what you can read in guides or on the internet. ...And for the exact same reasons, I try to meet local people when I'm travelling.
