Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I have an insatiable thirst for travel and new adventures/experiences. I travel as much as possible. I usually travel solo and prefer to connect with others when traveling rather than staying alone in a hotel room. I also do not need the accommodations of a hotel. When I travel, I spend most of my time out exploring and only need a couch to crash on. Most importantly, I am on CS to make new friends and connections all over the map.
Music, Movies, and Books
I have a very eclectic taste in all of these. Briefly: Music: A little of everything but modern country. I love reggae, funk, jam bands, folk, some bluegrass, blues, bossa nova, classic rock, indie rock, some EDM, world beat, and I am a deadhead at heart. --Last concert attended: The Roots Movies: A little of everything. Documentaries, independent films, etc --Last movie watched: Star Wars The Force Awakens Books: Nonfiction, ethnography, David Sedaris, Jack Kerouac, Hunter S. Thompson, Aldous Huxley, George Orwell, Octavia Butler, J.K. Rowling, etc. --Last book read: A House in the Sky: A Memoir by Amanda Lindhout
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I took a leap of faith and moved to Washington, DC from small town Arkansas with 3 weeks notice with no job or anything lined up. I sold my car and all of my possessions and moved to DC with one suitcase and $3000. It was a struggle at first first, but I'm finally established 4 years later. Best decision that I have made in my life.
What I Can Share With Hosts
Travel stories, laughter, good vibes, and good times. I am a very clean, quiet, and respectable guest that requires no special accommodations. Also, I am very open-minded and will only stay in open-minded environments.
