Daytrip from Ankara?
Hi everybody! I'm looking for places to visit near Ankara by bus or train. Until now i've been to Eskisehir, Afiyon and Konya. They told me about Beypazari, but i'm a bit tired of seeing old ottoman houses. I like natural areas as well, but only if there's possibility to walk around/rent bikes/swim.
Any advice?

Eymir Lake is a nice place to start your day, it will probably take 2 to 3 hours to go around with a bike and have breakfast with the lake view. Than you can go to Segmenler Park which is one of the best parks in Ankara. You can read a book and catch your breath there. Maybe you can go to Ankara Castle (Kale)at Ulus. Ulus is not a nice area but you will have great view from the top of the Castle and some small restaurants where locals go to. Kizilcahamam can be considered but it will take you at least one hour to go there. I can't recommend Beypazari, like you said, it is a little bit standart.
Looks like you're a resident in Ankara, so it's not that easy to give u advices if I'm right :)
+1 for eymir. You may also check out Kesikkopru for swimming or camping. It's a small dam on Kızılırmak river. There is an ego bus that goes to Kesikkopru village (never took it) - and you need to walk to the campsite from the village I guess. Really difficult by public transportation, best to have a car to go there, but the closest place to ankara for swimming (not so popular like eymir so, don't expect to find so many people there - I actually go there to freedive)
Also, you can see Amasra. It's a small town by Black Sea. People usually go there to swim -and see the natural peninsula with beautiful views- you can easily travel there by coaches from aşti bus terminal. If you go there, do not forget to eat their well-known salad at one of the restaurants by the beach. (It's also possible to have a daily trip there)
enjoy your time in Ankara Mevlut
Rent a car and go to Hattusa and Yazilikaya and Alacahoyuk, the Hatti and Hittites Triangles.. Takes 1 day to go and wander and come back.. Google and tripadvisor.com for details..
If you are into rock climbing, Karakayalar near Eskişehir is a great place, a boulderhouse near Kızılay organizes events on the weekends.
ODTÜ Forest is pretty good for hiking, you can enter near the Ankara Fen Lisesi gate.
Beynam Forest is the only natural forest area in Ankara, you can find "dolmuş" that takes you nearby.
Plenty of cycling groups here in Ankara, if you have a bike, or can rent for a day join them for a tour around Ankara. "Batı Ankara Bisiklet" has weekend rides.
Thanks everybody! I'll try those lakes. Amasra is a bit far, good only for a weekend trip
Why dont you go to Bolu? It's nature is beautfiul and not too far from Ankara :) Lots of lakes and fresh air in there. But i bet it's colder than Ankara, wear tight!
