Recommendation needed - Madagascar for 3 weeks

Hi Everyone, Greetings from Tokyo! I am visiting Madagascar for 3 weeks from end-March. This is my 1st visit, and I would appreciate your recommendation on where to visit. I am not on tight budget, but I prefer to go local by taxi brousse if possible. Given the season and time for transportation, what's the 'must' places I should never miss? Particular question on Berenty Private Reserve in the south; it is the 'must' for group tour from Japan, and I wonder if it is really inreplacable with something in the west, east, or north. I trust you are doing well.

Madagascar, is really beautiful !

I think 3 weeks could be enough to travel around !

It depends on your expectation, mainly people come to Madagascar for : national park: rainforest and dry forest, baobab, lemurs, and beaches.

So visit : Andasibe national park, you can see there the biggest lemurs of Madagascar called : Indri-indri, and you can cuddle lemurs also at Vakona private reserve.

Ranomafana national park : Rainforest park, it's really huge and plenty of lemurs. Humid forest.

Isalo national park : Dry national park : we have there ourlocal canyon, like in the US. There are natural swimming pool, lemurs..

Finally Baobab : Get to Morondava to see Baobab avenue ! The must of Madagascar !

I have been to Berenty, I mean, you can see mainly lemurs there, this one, you can see in Isalo, so personally, I won't advise you to get there ... And you have to fly to get there, and rent a 4*4... It will be expensive...

To sum up, go to : Andasibe, Ranomafana, Isalo national parks, and Morondava for Baobabs... All are easily reachable by taxi-brousse, so no need to rent a car ! If time permits, you can relax in Ifaty beaches, nothern of Toliara, 200 Km far from Isalo national parks, if you still continue to down south... You will travel like a local, and on the way back from Toliara, you can fly !

3 weeks should fit all !

Hello, first on March Madagascar is in winter, so do not forget to bring sweaters and warm jackets. For your question, Berenty is a private park that advertises itself. The problem is that: this park is very far is very difficult to go in taxi-brousse. If you want to visit the island for three weeks quietly but not to the Japanese Paris tours!!!, you can do this: 1- Antananarivo direction EST-Andasibe Park-Ste-Marie Island. 2-Return in Antananarivo SOUTH direction: Antsirabe-park Ranomafana-Fianarantsoa - park ISALO-Tulear 3- 2 options a) Take Plane for Fort Dauphin Berenty and return by plane to Antananarivo b) go to the beautiful ANAKAO beach and return Antananarivo taxi-brousse.
