Lots of them. Not necessarily prepared but if you are snowshoeing you don't really want prepared trails anyway. Remember to always make your own trail and NEVER snowshoe on ski tracks. You can follow other snowshoe tracks of course. Walk from Main Street almost any direction and when the snow gets deep, put on the snowshoes. P
Thanks Paul!
To add to Paul's response, some of my favorite places near Avon are up on west Lake Creek Drive near Edwards (this one is awesome if you bring skis or snowboard to ride back down), Booth falls near Vail for a trail that's probably a little more packed down and easy to follow because it's a bit more used, Meadow Mountain in Minturn is a popular spot and the ranger station there is loaded with maps. I would actually start there and pick up some trail maps and ask the Rangers some questions and they'll help you find exactly what you're looking for. If you're in need of a trail buddy I can help! Good luck, have fun!
The Strawberry lift at Beaver Creek stops checking tickets after 3:30 (closes at 4:00) and has access to McCoy Nordic Park.
