Yes there's public transportation but it would only be convenient if you are staying inside the city itself, otherwise getting a car rental would be your best option. Uber inside the city is another great option since everything is relatively close to each other.

I would add that Uber or Lyft work great and I use them but are relatively expensive if you're trying to get somewhere where it's relatively easy to use public transportation. Another thing to consider is that public transportation is mostly hub and spokes so it's not always convenient to use to get from one neighborhood to another unless they're on the same line.

Thanks for the tip, I'll be there for a couple of days, so I guess I will try to use the public transportation even if it isn't that great, or Uber if needed.

Unless you are downtown, use your car. You can take the Link from outside of downtown if necessary. Charlotte is a drivable city.
