Hi Arianne! I see that you are going to be in the area around June, here are some events that might interest you:
Ink Underground is the successful transformation of an 8-acre underpass located between Boston’s South End and South Boston neighborhoods into an active urban park, cultural attraction and mixed-use parking facility. This space is the MassDOT project to transform eight acres of underutilized property beneath the elevated Central Artery Expressway (I-93) between Boston’s South End and South Boston’s neighborhoods. https://www.ink-underground.com/new-events/ On the 10th, they are having a Live Graffiti Festival and the 24th they are have a Night Market, with DJ's, food trucks and more.
Sail Boston Since 1992, Sail Boston, Inc., a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, has hosted more than 500 international tall ships and vessels of interest to Boston and many Massachusetts coastal communities. Sail Boston, Inc. endeavors to develop programs that provide economic development and cultural enrichment for citizens, businesses and visitors in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. http://www.sailboston.com/ 17-22nd, basically a parade of sail boats to massive galleons.
Road Devils Boston Hot Rod Run Still in the works, but a local car club is organizing an drive of antique hot rods, if it is successful, might be a good look at American car culture. https://www.facebook.com/events/1885020768449633/?active_tab=discussion est. June 25th, might cost some money, final destination is usually a place where they park and show off.
Gee, free events are hard to find, lol.
Well, if you are still in the area, Boston's first ever cat cafe will be having a grand opening month all July: https://www.purrcatcafe.com/
And if you have the money to spare, here is a restaurant recommendation: http://topofthehub.net/ On the 52nd floor of one of Boston's tallest building.
Have a good time! If you have any question, feel free to ask. -Mike
