MoGo just launched a bike share program in Downtown
Mogo Starts Tuesday May 23rd. The Wheelhouse at Rivard Plaza on the Riverwalk (near Ren Center) has rentals and bike tours. There is a place on the north side of Eastern Market that rents bikes...but i am not certain if that is only Saturdays. You might notice another bike share program downtown but it is only for employees a certain companies.
I CAN RENT YOU A BIKE FROM MY STABLE IN Oak Park, MI. But the other alternatives offered are closer to downtown area. I am about eight miles north from Rivard Plaza
That's really kind of you John. I'll keep that in mind :-))

Open daily at Rivard Plaza
Open Tue & Sat at Eastern Market
Open 6 days (closed Tue) in Hamtramck
https://www.zagster.com Zagster is free to employees of Quicken companies and Greektown Casino hotel guests, but I think anyone can join and pay a daily rate..
upvoting wheelhouse and https://mogodetroit.org/.
Another thought - depending on how long you'll be here, you can buy a bike for ~$75 at www.thehubofdetroit.org and then donate it to your CS host or another person.
Best idea so far! I was wondering if buying a bike wouldn't be the best idea :-))
Bet you could just buy a used bike for $35 and then return it as a donation. Try this place. http://thehubofdetroit.org/bikes/# shop@thehubofdetroit.org 313-833-0813 3611 Cass Avenue. Also just saw this place on craigslist www.swridesdetroit.com https://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/bik/6134813446.html looks like lots of used road bikes.
