Things to see and do in Maribor in july?
Me and my friend are going to visit Maribor for 2-3 days in july. Could you suggest some things to see and do there?

It all depends on what your interests are. It is definitely worth visiting Pohorje (https://www.visitpohorje.si/en/), you can either hike up (takes around 1,5h to the top if you are not rushing or around 30min to the first viewpoint) or go with the cable (6€ round trip). If you like mountain biking or downhill biking, this is the also the place for that. I would recommend going to Trikotna jasa (first viewpoint) by foot, go on a giant swing there, then going down the ski slope with "adrenaline slide run" (https://maribor-pohorje.si/adrenaline-toboggan-run-pohorjet.aspx). The city centre is not really big so you can see it in a couple hours, there are several sights there, some of the most famous ones are: 400 year old grape vine, Lent, taking the path of the old fort and the towers (there are some ruins left), the castle, cathedral...(check TripAdvisor) City park is also nice, and you can go up another hill there (Pyramid hill) which is not that high and has a nice view too. I have never been there but I heard the wine cellar in the centre is also worth visiting (the hals are under the city centre). Going to the three ponds is nice too and you should definitely go to Slaščičarna Ilich, Lastovka or Q (Teta Frida) for some ice cream. Everything listed is really close by and reachable by foot. except Pohorje is a little further away from the centre but there are regular buses that go there. One thing that is worth doing when in that part of Slovenia is going to local tourist farms and have something to eat and drink there. There are a lot of those around Maribor, they serve good local food and usually have their own wine. I also haven't been there yet but it is said to be beautiful at Špičnik, where you will find a heart shaped road and above it you can enjoy the view with good food and wine at a tourist farm (http://www.dreisiebner.si/index.php). Hope you find something that interests you.
