There's been posts in other traveler groups and backpacker groups on FB. Not sure which source it was... but some where it said that he was planning to cross over to Myanmar over land. Hope there will be news soon.

Hey there, we are from the backpacker community and we are fully aware of this issue. We are doing what we can and all we can do is keep our fingers crossed. Most of the travel community is already working to get information in line with the civil administration.

I got worried from the moment I heard that we wanted to cross over to Myanmar from Bangladesh by land. That border is highly hostile and we would generally want to avoid using that border to go to Myanmar. Moreover, they do not have proper customs and immigration facilities there which makes it even more difficult. A lot of human traffickers are active in the southern zone. Those traffickers claim to get you over to Malaysia but instead keep you hostage and asks for ransom to set them free.

Let's all keep him in our prayers for now.
