I've rescued an approx six month old kitten in Lagos - can anyone help with finding him a safe, loving home?
He's desexed and flea treated and I'm willing to pay for all his medical expenses for the rest of his life.

Easier to leave in association for abandonned animals. Search internet for one near You
Hi keira :) Thank yo ufor not being indiferent, animal situation here in Portugal is not great. I've been involved with animal rescuing for years. In Lagos I suggest contact Cadela Carlota https://www.facebook.com/cadelacarlota/?fref=ts or https://www.facebook.com/adopcaogatoslagos/?fref=ts Yo ucan also post photos on Anything animal algarve facebook group. I can't take that one to foster, because I already have some for adoption sorry. I do not recomend to do what Pedro suggest, because emotional and not well thought adoptions is exactly what we don't want and they can end up in the streets abandoned again. For example when we do adoption campaigns we never give the animals away imediatly, after thinking about it and answering our questions then if we find is a good home/family then is adopted. Also everybody be aware that animal associations are volunteer people. No support from the government. Not enough space for all animals in need. We do what we can, but is never enough. Also may I sugest to sterilize the cat before rehome him/her, because there is already an excess of cats and is the best for them. In Lagos you can try to find Nandi Fund who can help doing ot cheaper or go straight to the vet in Espiche, better prices. Good luck :)
Hi Elsa! Thank you so much for the comment, I was in contact with Candy and Pam from Nandi who recommended a vet that I took Alfie to. He was already sterilised but one of his eyes was poorly and needed treatment. I posted in pretty much every Facebook page in the Algarve and was lucky enough to find my boy a perfect home last week! I'm sorry I didnt close this thread, I'd never used this feature before and couldn't locate it until today! You do an amazing thing! I had no idea how bad the situation was there :(
Hi everyone, thanks so much for the comments and suggestions. I was lucky enough to find little Alfonso a wonderful home where he has run of the house and a garden to play in all to himself. He has two new 'sisters' one 8 and one 12 that adore the hell out of him! Overjoyed at the happy ending and thanks to everyone that wanted to help - my favourite people are compassionate people.
