Hey there Amadeia. Depends what you like but the lower east side has lots of various bars from all types. They are pretty close together too so you don't have to walk far from one to another. Try staying away from times square. It's just a complete mess with lots of foot traffic. Also 3rd avenue in the 20's leading into the thirties is a good avenue to check out. McDougal street in the west village is a good spot too.

I would recommend a Brooklyn warehouse party over a bar or bar crawl. Honestly bar crawl does not sound like a good idea because you would spend most of your night waiting in lines to get in a bar.
