SOLAR ECLIPSE where can i park my camper van free?

I am driving up for the eclipse and it looks like every durn campsite is booked. Anyone know of some woodsy unknown spots that I can just park for a night or two? I'd prefer to be in nature but if you've got a driveway with room for a van and it's somewhere within or near the eclipse path, That would be greatly appreciated! any suggestions appreciated! THANKS! <3

Downtown has a great view of the whole Congaree basin. This parking deck is excellent. Horizon Garage Main St Columbia, SC 29201

If you want more of a woodsy place, 1288 State Rd S-32-103 West Columbia, SC 29172

There is a government building nearby and they probably wouldn't mind if you parked there The hills behind it are some of the highest in the area and have great views of the region.

Couple suggestions: Granby Boat Landing: it's a little used boat landing right on the Congaree, last time i was there, the launch was closed but the parking lot is huge and empty. Has the advantage of being able to get on 77 or 26 pretty easily without going through town (thought they might be a parking lot regardless of where you get on them). I'm not sure I'd leave my vehicle there unattended overnight though. https://goo.gl/maps/fN8Mwz2sVs62

Polo Road Park: this parking area has a trail leading into Sesquicentennial Park which is pretty great, and while I've never parked overnight here, I have been here at various unseemly times of the night and never had a problem, I don't think you would either. https://goo.gl/maps/Hs54nJs4nek

Another option is that I have a house I rent out that is also adjacent to Sesqui Park (currently between tenants but my parents and I will be crashing there to watch the eclipse Sunday night to Monday afternoon, but you are more than welcome to park on the curb in front my house, ample space in a quiet cul-de-sac within a mile of all sorts of grocery/fast food/etc if needed). Let me know if any of that interests you or if you were looking for something else, I've lived in Cola for awhile now, probably could think of some other good spots.

Hi Rita, I Think another possible spot to watch the eclipse will be at the intersection of S Beltline Blvd and Simmon Tree Ln. There is a dirt road there in an open field. Places to leave your car there are parking garages in downtown or in the Shandon neighborhood you can park it. How big is it? You're welcome to park it in front of my house in Shandon if it is not too big.
