No, last week almost any rains here. Waves are still too big for beginners i think, but you can find places with smaller waves here (near turtle beach or near Dodanduwa one place)

Depend of place you will stay) From my house it is near 2-3 km to each. Not far as for me, but most guest are renting scooters, or using my bicycles. If you stay near city center it can be only 100-500 meters
