Hi everyone! I’m Jorge Pezantes — a documentary photographer and communications consultant, with 13+ years experience supporting UN agencies and NGOs in humanitarian and post-conflict contexts.

I’ll be in Kyiv and Odesa this spring working on an independent, research-driven documentary project about how symbols and public communication shape everyday life during conflict. A core part of the project is collecting respectful, consent-based life stories (short conversations + portraits) that center dignity, context, and accuracy.

I’m looking for local advice and connections: community initiatives, volunteers, cultural spaces, or individuals who might be comfortable sharing their experiences on record. I follow a strict do-no-harm approach, and I won’t film anything sensitive (military sites, checkpoints, air defense, etc.). Safety and consent come first!
