couple of hours in London

Hi! Me and my friend will have to wait 6,5 hours in Luton airport, but we decided not to spend that time there. If we take a bus or train to get into the city center (which is about 1,5 h) for a 2-3 hrs sightseeing is it a good decision? I visited London in August, but my friend have never been there, so she could get a small essence of London. Is it a good decision, or can you suggest us something better nearby? Thanks from Hungary! :) :)

From Luton train station you can go direct to Kings Cross station in London. Closeby you have the Harry Potter platform, British Library (cool building) and the British Museum. You could do all this in 2.5 hours I’d say ☺️.

I wouldn't recommend it. With London traffic, delays and cancellations it's risky. You won't enjoy it running around and stressed if you make it back on time

Nope, its not an expensive trip. Luton is shit, got nothing to see around. Night travel to london is freee, catch any train an dget down to kings cross, day travel card will be £9ish.

sure, open your eyes after 9PM, gates are open when eyes are open, lmao. although make sure you return back to luton before 6, actually catch the 4:50 train to get down at luton station. security and gates are closed at 5:30 ish. Enjoy your free travel.

London is very busy and crowded this week. But still if you make it to Leicester Square hang around or go covent garden . And than take your train back quickly and safely... including belonging ,don't rush . Welcome to London and enjoy your stay .

you may have lived for 25 years thou, you've not lived a student life mate. well, Ididnt asked to jump the barriers, the gates are open across the UK for the trains. no need to jump over. chillout, and travel safe. nobody is stopping you over, better experienced than yu mate..:P

Hi Tunde

Does your plane leave 6.5 hours after you arrive into Luton? I ask this as it is likely to take a minimum of 45 minutes from when the plane lands before you clear immigration etc. Then you need to ensure you are at the airport a minimum of 2 hours before your flight departs. This would only leave you with 3.45 minutes to go somewhere and then return back to the airport.

It may be worth contacting the Luton CS group to find out what is going on when you are due to fly in. I agree with AliChef ,and strongly advise you not to attempt to travel on any train without a ticket as this is a criminal offence and people are caught and prosecuted. That would not be a good experience for you both. I hope you both have a great time on your travels x

Amit, I hope you read and understand this message in the manner it issent to you, You are unvrified, have a profile which does not show that you have hosted or contributed to CS. These are observations, not critism. You may not be aware that CS strongly dissaproves of lawbeaking or encoraging others to do so.

Also, have you considered how disrespectful it is to the people who live in Luton for you to describe it in such an offensive manner . It is also immature and not helpful to respond to other CS users who are seeking clarification and given good LEGAL, therefore safe advice.

l hope this has assisted your thinking when you consider responding to future posts.
