Yes, I did it before. Pretty Good and Fun. Take Tuesday Train from Dar es Salaam to Kapiri. The train is clean and better that the one of Friday. tk care

Friends of mine recently did that trip. It cost 104,000 TZS per person in first class (max 4 people in a cabin) and well worth it if you have the time. Halfway through the trip the train ran out of water so you might want to bring some water just in case so you can brush your teeth, etc. they said it was comfortable and the advantage of being in first class is that not everyone has to lie down or sit at the same time because the seats/beds aren't dependent on each other as the ones in second class (max 6 people).
