Nightclubs
Hi! A friend (17) and I (18) will visit Manchester in 2 weeks. We were wondering if there is a possibility to get into a club / discoqtheque in Manchester. Is every discotheque strict, or is there a possibility that my friend can walk through? And if so, which club?

if you look young they will insist on ID, so i'd say wait till you're both 18
memorise a date of birth which makes u both 19 ( always better to make more convincing then saying 18 ) - if they ask u for ID just put on very broken English 'sowwy passport in hostel, I'm 19' - may work, may not - but always worth a try... some clubs are a lot less bothered than others :) good luck
bring a form of ID with you wherever you go as you wont get in any clubs without it. passport or European driving licence will be acceptable only

In Fallowfield you will probably be ID'd unless you're in a pub like Wetherspoons or the Friendship.
If you are in the centre of town I'd head to the Castle in the Northern Quarter, fantastic pub and you could get the drinks for each of you

If you go to Fallowfield which is the student area (about half an hour from the centre) then you might not get ID checked
Student bars and pubs are less likely to ask you i.e. in Fallowfield or near MMU. However don't go at popular times, make sure you go in early as sometimes they'll have bouncers on the door. If you want to go somewhere like Antwerp or Sankeys they're quite strict (but see if your friend can borrow a valid ID from a friend)
Hey there, I hope you find this in time.. When my sister (age 16) and her friend visited (age 17) I had lent both of them on separate occasions by identity card. In my experience, as long as you arent too obvious about it, they dont really check pictures and names on the I.D so I wouldnt even bother buying a fake ID. I would just suggest to bring two form of identity proofs with you, that would cover both yourself and your friend, and try to have some strangers in between you. Always has worked for me :) On one occasion, I even got a friend in with the same ID I used to get in, by slipping it to her while the guy wasnt looking, and its worked in city center clubs, and even places like Antwerp Mansion
A fake ID from Netherlands would do fine. If you look like me and my friend you could borrow my driving license... LOL
