I´m looking for non touristy things to do in NO. Things only locals know about. Can anyone please help?

Take a gondola ride on Big Lake in City Park.
The Gondola would be pretty pricey, $90 for 2 people! But more affordable, you can rent a canoe or kayak instead. City Park itself is worth a visit, the sculpture gaden is free (opens daily at 10 AM, closes at 5 PM). There is also a 24 hour cafe', The Morning Call, where you can get beignets and other traditional New Orleans meals fairly cheaply. You can go to a local pub to watch an American football game, the Saints play at noon Sunday, check out Finn McCools at 3701 Banks Street, free food 1 hour before the game. Speaking of free food, the Hare Krishna house at 2936 Esplanade Ave has a weekly free vegitarian Indian meal , Sunday's at 7:30 PM.
Thank you both that really helps me a lot :)
If you're in town for it, there is a big art crawl on St. Claude Ave every second Saturday of the month, usually between Press St. and Poland St. Basically all the art galleries on that stretch (close to a dozen) have their openings that night.
Also, if you want to relax by the Mississippi, the Fly (uptown) and Crescent City Park (downtown) are both really nice. Enjoy yourself!
Lovely gracias!
Free swing dancing lessons and dancing every Sunday at 8 at the Always lounge is always a good time. There's also a burlesque show at One Eyed Jacks tonight at 8 that should be fun. I'll be going to that with a friend. Text me if you end up there: 228.424.0380
Thank you! I will let you know if I do
Are they still doing the free Swing lessons?
I'm visiting in a couple weeks, and happen to be there on Sunday. That sounds like it would be fun
Try the flea market on the weekends in the French Quarter. Also, beignets on Decatur Street is a must. Stay AWAY from Bourbon Street. If you're into music, Frenchman street is a must. The Carousel Bar in the Hotel Monteleone is an extremely nice, upscale, ornate place to get drinks. As for shopping - Magazine Street uptown.
Are these non touristy things?
Not a tourist.. walk down Frenchmen street almost daily(exercise) and my boyfriend and I crave beignets(we just know there are other options when CDM line is down the block). As a local I do a lot of touristy stuff because it’s there and I live in a touristy city. I also go down bourbon st a lot to ppl watch and walk.

I always enjoy walking around garden district. It’s beautiful houses and surprise find of local pub/eatery
HotcTin rooftop bar located at the Pontratrain Hotel on St. Charles Avenue is nice and relaxing. An afternoon streetcar ride from Canal Street to Uptown and back is adventurous. Walking on Magazine Street is interesting. And the Rum House, Gris Gris and Surrey's has great food.
I love to kayak Bayou St John. Contact Bayou Paddle Sports for a good deal on rentals. Once a month they have a night paddle with music and food after!
