Vegan stores/restaurants I should visit during my stay in NYC
Hey guys, I'm visiting NYC in September and I was wondering which vegan stores and/or eat-outs I should visit or which food products are a MUST (your favorites, something I may only find in the states that I can take back with me to Chile ) I'll be looking forward to hearing your recommendations!

Farmer's Market at Union Square Park
Whole Foods Supermarket is expensive but you'll find a great deal of products
Go to Jackson Heights! amazing vegetarian indian restaurants!
Angelica kitchen is pricey but the gold standard of vegan restaurants and have been around forever.

you say they were around forever, and, indeed, i was going there since the 80s (when they were on St. Mark's) but alas "forever" came to an end about a month ago - they are now history.
RED BAMBOO!! My favorite spot. Great food and cool staff. Go Zen is also pretty cool. It's conveniently located next door.
I was going to suggest Red Bamboo too!! Get off at the West 4th stop and it is less than a 5 minute walk.
Seconded Red Bamboo. One of the best, and easily one of the most underrated. :)

Bunna Cafe is my fav spot and a total must-eat at in my opinion! Vegan Ethiopian food, absolutely great. I'd love to join you if you decide to go, just hit me up! Enjoy!!

There's one that just opened in the East Village, absolutely delicious! AVANT GARDEN on 7th St between Ave A and 1st Ave.
Blossom in Chelsea(Manhattan) is a good vegan restaurant
Queen of Sheba 49th and 9th around there, Brooklyn - "Foodswings", if you can get to Long Island "The Witches Brew!"
FYI, Foodswings closed a few years ago. They lost their lease. :(
