Visit the Hadrians Wall? I could possibly take you to some of the best parts if you can get a bus to Corbridge, 45 mins from Newcastle centre, £6 for a return ticket or something.. I can't guarantee my availability yet but it could be an option
Yeees, I would like to see The Hadrian's Wall. I think I'll be able to come to Corbridge. Just let me know if you can.
If you're looking for nice things to do in Newcastle, I have some recommendations... The Botanist is a really nice place to get an interesting cocktail or some food (halloumi hanging kebab!), the building was an old shopping centre but now has a tree house and a tree in the middle and looks pretty cool. Grey's street in the centre by the Earl Grey's monument is quite picturesque and a kind of must-visit from the point of view of seeing Newcastle.... similarly the quayside - make sure you go down to the river because it's an impressive view of buildings and different bridges, Newcastle and Gateshead. There's a big market along the quayside on Sunday mornings, there's food and all-sorts there. The hidden gem of Newcastle, I would say, is Francesca's Pizzeria in Jesmond. It's a little out of the centre but the place is truly Italian, the food is so delicious and affordable prices (about £7 for pizza/pasta and the seafood is v good!). They don't take bookings, you just cue inside when its busy, you can buy drinks for the cue. I've heard that the Laing art gallery is very good and that the Baltic (modern) is a bit empty and disappointing from two people, but that may be partially a taste thing. You could get the metro to the seaside and get fish and chips... It's not the prettiest part of the coast, but if you fancied visiting the sea. Those are the things I can think of from the top of my head, hope it helps. Ooh and if you're staying in Heaton, some people say that the Butterfly Cabinet is the best place in Newcastle for a cooked breakfast.
thank you so much :) all of this sounds great
I like pretty much everything :) Thank you for all this recommendations.
