Cheap hostel near the airport

I'm taking a trip through the US in September. For my flight back to Belgium, I have a layover of almost 24 hours in Oakland. So now I'm looking for a place to sleep for one night. Does anyone know a (very) cheap hostel/hotel, preferably close to the airport? I don't need comfort, just a bed to sleep in. Thanks!

Hello Eline, the 3 or 4 closest hotels from OAK are in the $150-$170 dollar range and within a mile of the international terminal (Terminal 1) and can be reach by shuttle bus. Unfortunately you don't have too much of a choice as the others are also in the that price range or higher and not very far either and they're all in the same general area along Hegenberger Road or off of it. However if you take a cab and go to Alameda which is the next town north of the airport ($25 fare, 10-15 minutes away) there is a decent hotel called Coral Reef Inn and Suites, less expensive and half a block from the beach.

Hi Eline! What date will you be in Oakland? My husband works at the airport so we live really close and could offer you modest accommodations....let me know what date you'll be in town and maybe we can work something out!
