The Amsterdam light festival should still be going on in January. It's a nice way to spend an evening walking or you can take a 75 minute boat ride for €24. https://amsterdamlightfestival.com

You can take a train to Amsterdam Central Station, it will take you only 15 minutes from the airport and are in the centre of Amsterdam 😊. Enough to do for 9 or 20 hours. Maybe I can show you around a bit as well if you like that.

In real terms that'll just give you 5 or 6 hours at most in the city. You could try packing in museums and boat trips etc, but really the best thing to do is to walk around the city, sit in a cafe and enjoy. Check out the wiki in the Amsterdam Reddit group.
