Check out Alberto's in Mountain View. They're a bar with 2-hour Latin dance lessons every day of the week and social dancing after, $10 cover. They're a lot of fun

Friday Night Waltz in Palo Alto is fun - there's a big range in the skill level of the attendees, and also a good variety of different dances throughout the night (waltz, swing, polka, and a bit of Latin as well): http://www.fridaynightwaltz.com

For salsa, in addition to Alberto's in Mountain View, there's Hot Salsa Saturday at Dance Boulevard in San Jose.

There's also South Bay Fusion in Redwood City, and then lots more options for all kinds of dance if you want to venture up to San Francisco (Mission Fusion, 9:20 Special, Shades of Blues, and many more).
