Well, In Costa Rica we have just 2 season Summer and "winter" (Rainy season). You need think this is a tropical country, we have rain all months but in May to November is rainy season. If you have lucky when you come here it will be sunny it depends the nature rules.

I agree with Esteban. I does not rain that much and December weather is pretty beautiful; however thanks to global warming is almost impossible to predict how the weather will be by this months.

It's going to rain hard in October and then transition to the dry season during November. The humidity builds until at about 2pm it starts to rain and then stops a couple of hours later until the next day. But, it's usually pretty warm :)

There isn't a strong sailing culture here, and so there aren't too many marinas, but there are a few places to stop along the way like Playa del Coco & Tamarindo (you might get the Papagayo winds at that time of year) then you have Marina los Sueños, Quepos and then past a long coast of great surf beach (but bad anchorage) you have Drake Bay.

In the morning you have a lot of sun, and after 1 pm rain is coming in the pacific. In the caribean, Puerto Viejo, Cahuita it is different and you have more time of sunny days

Its rainy season but it depends on the weather everyday, so its not rain al day everday. Go sailing for sure !
