Road trip around Olympic National Park
Hi Everyone, I'm arriving in Portland on Sunday (Aug 11) and planning on staying a few days. After that I am planning on getting the train up to Seattle on thursday 15th (I've not booked it yet). I'd like to hire a car for 4 days or so and visit Olympic National Park - particularly to hike in the Hoh Rainforest, visit some of the beaches, and the Makah Museum. I'd love for someone to join me for company and to share the cost of the car and driving. My initial thoughts were to get to Port Angeles on public transport then hire the car from there as I've only driven a small amount abroad before and didn't want my first experience to be in a large city. But if you are happy with city driving we could leave from Olympia or Seattle. I'm planning on going to Vancouver, Canada on 24th Aug but am free from 15th - 24th August to do something. I was going to camp but I only have a one person tent so you'd need your own tent or be happy sleeping in the back of the car. We can either camp in a park campsite - first come first served, or do dispersed camping on forest service land. I don't have any cooking equipment so we'd just be sleeping there. In terms of hikes I don't want to do anything insane anything easy to moderate with some elevation gain is ok by me. I like to wander, look at the wildlife and enjoy the view. Hope you can join me. I guess up to 3 other people so you can fit in the car. Reply if you're interested! Also if you have a spare couch in Seattle / Port Angeles / around the park let me know. Cheers! :) Chris
